Treowen Stars Sports and Social Club

This commercial solar PV installation at Treowen Stars Sports and Social Club in Newbridge demonstrates how community facilities can significantly reduce operational energy costs while transitioning toward sustainable energy solutions.

The system comprises an 11.90 kWp rooftop solar array, utilising high-efficiency Trina Vertex S panels distributed across multiple roof orientations to maximise generation throughout the day. The installation integrates two SolaX X1 G4 hybrid inverters, ensuring efficient energy conversion and system flexibility.

To enhance energy independence and increase self-consumption, the project includes a 6 kWh battery storage system, allowing excess solar energy to be stored and utilised during peak demand periods. This is particularly beneficial for sports and social club operations, where energy usage often peaks during evenings and events.

The system is designed to generate approximately 9,219 kWh annually, offsetting a significant portion of the club’s electricity consumption. Financial modelling indicates a payback period of approximately 6 years, alongside strong long-term returns and substantial electricity savings over the system’s lifetime.

This installation not only delivers measurable financial benefits but also strengthens the club’s commitment to sustainability, reducing carbon emissions and supporting environmentally responsible community infrastructure.
