Markaz Tawheed

Markaz Tawheed has invested in a carefully engineered solar photovoltaic (PV) system to support sustainable energy use, reduce operational costs, and demonstrate environmental responsibility within the local community in Cardiff.

The system comprises 88 × 460 W lightweight solar panels, delivering a total installed capacity of approximately 40.5 kWp, coupled with 2 × 20 kW Solax hybrid inverters. The lightweight panel technology was selected to suit the structural characteristics of the building while maintaining high performance and long-term reliability.

Electricity generated by the system is prioritised for on-site consumption, supplying power for lighting, internal facilities, and day-to-day electrical demand during daylight hours. This directly reduces imported grid electricity and helps protect the centre from ongoing energy price volatility.

The Solax hybrid inverters provide intelligent energy management, high conversion efficiency, and future-ready capability for battery storage integration. This allows Markaz Tawheed to further enhance self-consumption and resilience should energy storage be added in the future.

From an environmental perspective, the system delivers an estimated 8.5 tonnes of CO₂ savings every year, supporting UK Net Zero targets and reducing reliance on fossil-fuel-generated electricity. Over the expected 25–30 year operational life, the installation will prevent the release of hundreds of tonnes of carbon emissions.
